Woman Dies in La Jolla Bicycle Crash on Torrey Pines Road

 
LA JOLLA, CA (June 25, 2021) — A woman died in a bicycle accident on Torrey Pines Road near La Jolla Village Drive Wednesday afternoon.
 
According to San Diego police officers, the fatal bicycle crash happened around 4:20 p.m. For unknown reasons, a 34-year-old female bicyclist merged into the left lane from the right lane and was hit by a 2005 Mercedes-Benz SL500.
 
Due to the impact, the bicyclist suffered major injuries and died shortly thereafter. Following the accident, authorities responded and interviewed the 74-year-old male driver who did not appear to be intoxicated or impaired.
