Woman Dies in Rio Vista 2-Car Crash on Highway 160

 
RIO VISTA, CA (May 2, 2022) — A woman died in a 2-car accident on Highway 160 at Sherman Island Road on Thursday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly two-vehicle head-on crash happened around 1:00 p.m. For unknown reasons, a woman driving a black Saturn SUV southbound on Highway 160 crossed the double yellow lines and entered a northbound left-turn lane.
 
Subsequently, the Saturn collided head-on with a silver Kia SUV situated in the northbound left-turn lane, intended for West Sherman Island Road.
 
As a result of the head-on crash, the Kia driver suffered fatal injuries and the Saturn driver suffered major injuries. Soon after, paramedics responded and brought the surviving victim to an East Bay Hospital.
 
At this time, authorities have not released the fatal victim’s name and cause of the crash. However, we will update this report once we receive additional information.
