HERMOSA BEACH, CA (November 4, 2021) — A woman sustained injuries in a head-on accident on Hermosa Avenue at 16th Street on Wednesday morning.
 
According to reports, the incident happened sometime Wednesday morning. For unknown reasons, a man driving a dark grey vehicle was speeding southbound in the northbound lanes of Hermosa Avenue.
 
Subsequently, after blowing through multiple stop signs on several streets, the speeding vehicle crashed into a BMW head-on at the 16th Street stop sign.
 
As a result of the force, the BMW slammed into the car behind it. Soon after, paramedics arrived and brought the elderly woman driving the BMW to a hospital in an unknown condition. Meanwhile, officers questioned the wrong-way driver, who reportedly lunged at officers before police held him down.
