Pedestrian Suffers Fractures and Internal Bleeding after Hit by Car on West Point Loma Boulevard

 
POINT LOMA HEIGHTS, CA (October 13, 2023) – A woman was hospitalized in a pedestrian accident on West Point Loma Boulevard in the Point Loma Heights neighborhood Tuesday evening on October 10.
 
The accident happened around 9:59 p.m. near Chapman Street. According to the San Diego Police Department, a 67-year-old man was driving a 2001 Buick Century sedan eastbound on West Point Loma Boulevard.
 
At the same time, the 60-year-old female pedestrian was walking northbound across West Point Loma when she stepped in front of the Buick and was hit.
 
As a result, the woman suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
 
Paramedics took her to a hospital with a fractured left ankle, facial fractures, and internal bleeding.
 
Alcohol or drugs were not a factor, the officer said. SDPD’s Traffic Division is handling the investigation.
