Pedestrian Suffers Severe Injuries after Hit by Car on Date Palm Drive in Cathedral City

 
CATHEDRAL CITY, CA (October 13, 2023) – One person was seriously injured in a pedestrian accident at Date Palm Drive and Dinah Shore in Cathedral City late Wednesday afternoon.
 
The accident happened around 5:20 p.m. on October 11. According to the Cathedral City Police Department, a vehicle was turning north onto Date Palm from Dinah Shore during a green light. At the same time, the pedestrian was going west into the crosswalk against a red light when they were struck by the vehicle.
 
Paramedics responded and rushed the pedestrian to Desert Regional Medical Center with severe injuries.
 
The driver remained on scene and cooperated with police.
 
The accident is still under investigation.
