Woman Killed in Stolen Vehicle Crash at Calvine Road in Sacramento

 
SACRAMENTO, CA (May 8, 2023) — A woman died in a stolen car accident at Calvine Road and Franklin Boulevard.
 
According to the Sacramento Fire Department, the deadly two-vehicle crash happened around 4:25 p.m. Thursday.
 
The Elk Grove Police Department tried to pull over a sedan that was reportedly stolen. However, the driver drove away at a high rate of speed. Officers canceled the chase due to how recklessly the car was moving.
 
However, the stolen vehicle subsequently crashed into a pickup truck occupied by three people.
 
As a result, a woman in the stolen vehicle suffered major injuries and died moments later. Paramedics also took three minors in the same car to a hospital. In the pickup, two people suffered critical injuries and a third reported moderate injuries.
 
Authorities have no other information surrounding the crash or the suspects in the stolen vehicle. Commuters faced closure on Franklin Boulevard in both directions between Bassett Way and Adalis Drive.
