1 Flees After Driver Crashes Into Big Rig on Highway 99 in Fresno
FRESNO, CA (May 14, 2024) — A driver fled the scene after a car crashed into a semi-truck on Highway 99 near Olive Avenue.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the two-vehicle crash happened around 5:00 a.m. Tuesday. Under unclear circumstances, a car struck a semi-truck on Highway 99 before being dragged about 200 feet. Subsequently, the driver of the semi-truck, who thought he had a flat tire, saw the vehicle wedged into the rear of his truck and pulled over.
Shortly after, CHP officers arrived and found the car driver unaccounted for. Per reports, the driver exited the vehicle and ran onto the McKinley Avenue off-ramp before leaving the scene completely.
Authorities did not say what led to the accident. However, if anyone has additional insight, please call the CHP.
