Anton Jackson Jr. Detained, Pedestrian Hospitalized in Homeland Security Chase near 23rd Avenue and 11th Street

 
OAKLAND, CA (May 8, 2023)Anton Jackson Jr. was arrested, and a pedestrian was injured following a Homeland Security chase near 23rd Avenue and 11th Street.
 
According to Oakland police officers, the police chase happened around 5:30 p.m. Thursday. A Homeland Security officer was in pursuit of an Acura TL, driven by 22-year-old Jackson. The Oakland man allegedly failed to stop at a red traffic light. Subsequently, the Acura struck a Nissan Altima and a 32-year-old pedestrian from Oakland.
 
Following the accident, paramedics arrived minutes later and transported the victim to Highland Hospital for treatment. Jackson reportedly tried to flee from the scene but was quickly apprehended by Homeland Security officers.
 
Police also uncovered an illegally modified gun nearby.
 
As for the Nissan driver, that individual escaped harm and cooperated with police investigators.
