Wrong-Way Driver Causes Head-On Accident on Alfred Harrell Highway in Bakersfield

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (June 3, 2021) – Two park rangers sustained serious injuries in a head-on accident on Alfred Harrell Highway Wednesday.
 
The accident happened around 2:17 p.m. on June 2, at the intersection with Fairfax Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, a woman was driving a black sedan the wrong way when it she collided head-on into an oncoming park ranger patrol car.
 
As a result, two park rangers were seriously injured. Paramedics transported both to Kern Medical Center for treatment.
 
It is unknown if the wrong-way driver sustained injuries from the crash.
 
At this time, CHP officials are investigating to determine the exact cause of the accident.
