Two Motorcycles Collide Head-On on 25 Hill Road in Taft Injuring Both Riders

 
TAFT, CA (February 20, 2024) – Two motorcyclist were airlifted in a head-on accident on 25 Hill Road in a remote area south of Taft on February 10.
 
According to the Kern County Fire Department, two motorcycles collided head-on near 25 Hill Road around 12:06 p.m. the crash happened in a steep ravine.
 
Responding firefighters arrived at the off-road location via fire engines, but had to use 4×4 patrol vehicles to meet the 911 caller who then led them to the crash site. Rescue teams hiked down to reach the patients and began to treat their injuries.
 
Because of the remote site and lack of access, KCFD’s helicopter 408 was called in to hoist the patients.
 
Both motorcyclists were then airlifted to a hospital, one of them suffered major injuries.
 
It is unknown if speed, drugs or alcohol were contributing factors in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
