Speeding Sedan Rear-Ends Semi on 80 Freeway in San Francisco Killing 2 People

 
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (March 20, 2023) – Two people were killed in a rear-end accident on 80 Freeway in San Francisco late Wednesday evening on March 15.
 
The accident happened around 11:21 p.m. near the on-ramp to Treasure Island Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, a black Dodge Charger was traveling at high speeds and in a reckless manner when the driver was unable to safely slow down. The sedan then collided into the rear of a slow-moving semitrailer.
 
Two occupants of the Charger suffered fatal injuries and were both pronounced dead at the scene. They were not yet identified.
 
It is unknown if drugs or alcohol played a factor in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
