Car Accident on 15 Freeway in Newberry Springs Leaves 2 Dead and Injures 2 Others

 
NEWBERRY SPRINGS, CA (April 11, 2022) – Two people were killed in a car accident on 15 Freeway in Newberry Springs on Friday morning.
 
The accident happened around 11:11 a.m. on April 8 at Mannix Wash bridge, approximately 5 miles before Alvord Mountain Road. According to the CHP, a dark-colored sedan was traveling southbound at an unknown speed when it lost control. It veered to the center divider and rolled over several times. It then landed under the freeway hitting the bridge.
 
Good Samaritans rendered aid and pulled the victims from the vehicle just before catching fire.
 
San Bernardino County Fire Department responded and reported four people trapped inside the car.
 
Sadly, two of the four people died at the scene. Their identities were not immediately available.
 
Rescue crews requested two helicopters to transport the other two patients to Loma Linda University Medical Center with critical injuries.
 
At this time, it is unclear what caused the crash. An investigation is underway.
