Two Seriously Hurt after Rollover Accident on Stearns Street and Palo Verde Avenue
LONG BEACH, CA (February 11, 2022) — A driver and passenger were hurt in a rollover accident on Stearns Street on Wednesday, February 9.
According to Long Beach Fire Department spokesperson Brian Fisk, fire personnel rushed around 3 p.m. to Stearns AStreet and Palo Verde Avenue.
Fisk said that the incident involved one car that overturned. Officers used the “Jaws of Life” to remove the driver and passenger of the vehicle. Medics rushed them to a nearby hospital’s trauma unit in critical condition. Hours after the incident, police said that the two people injured in the crash are now in stable condition.
Footage posted on social media by bystanders showed a wrecked white SUV with a completely broken front windshield. The vehicle was flipped on its side on the roadway next to a gas station.
The cause of the accident was not yet determined. However, officers believe the driver lost control in the intersection which led the vehicle to flip over.
