RICHMOND, CA (May 24, 2022) – A multi-vehicle accident on Richmond-San Rafael Bridge brought traffic to a standstill on Thursday morning.
 
According to Caltrans, the incident happened on May 19 at about 7:00 a.m. An undisclosed number of vehicles reportedly collided on the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge near the toll plaza.
 
It is unknown whether any of the people involved suffered injuries.
 
Emergency responders issued a SigAlert that lasted until 8:00 a.m. to make way for clearing operations.
 
Caltrans continues to investigate the cause of the accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
