Tony Perez Dies, Bob Andrade Seriously Injured in Keyes Car Accident

 
KEYES, CA (February 18, 2021) — A man died in a two-car accident at the intersection of Keyes Road and Faith Home Road just before noon Saturday, February 13.
 
The man killed in the crash was identified by the Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office as 79-year-old Tony Perez of Ceres.
 
The California Highway Patrol said the collision was caused by one of the vehicles running a blinking red light at the intersection, but at this point it’s unclear which party failed to stop.
 
A 2009 Mercedes-Benz, driven by 45-year-old Bob Manuel Andrade of Turlock traveled westbound on Keyes Road, approaching the intersection with Faith Home Road at an unknown speed. Perez drove a 2013 Hyundai sedan southbound on Faith Home, approaching the same intersection.
 
Emergency personnel arrived at the scene and pronounced Perez deceased.
 
The impact caused major left side damage to the Hyundai. It was found on its left side, leaning against an almond tree on the north shoulder of Keyes Road. In addition, the Mercedes-Benz had sustained major front-end damage. Police found it on its wheels just west of Faith Home Road, on the north shoulder of Keyes Road.
 
Andrade sustained major injuries from the crash. As a result, officials transported him in an ambulance to a nearby hospital.
 
Both men were wearing seat belts at the time of the collision.
