Car Accident on Greencraig Lane in Kearny Mesa Area Hurts 3 People

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (March 31, 2022) – Three people were hurt in a car accident on Greencraig Lane in the Kearny Mesa area of San Diego on Wednesday morning.
 
The accident happened around 9:40 a.m. on March 30 just north of Balboa Avenue and south of the Kaiser Permanente hospital. According to the San Diego Fire-Rescue, a Tesla may have accelerated out of a parking space instead of backing up when the driver lost control.
 
The car careened down a small embankment, crashed through a fence and landed on a parked ambulance in the lot below.
 
When officers arrived, they found three people inside the car. Paramedics also responded and took two of the three patients to Sharp Memorial Hospital for treatment of their injuries. The third declined medical care.
 
No one outside of the Tesla was hurt in the crash.
 
The ambulance involved in the crash was one in a long line of emergency vehicles parked in the lower lot.
 
An investigation into this crash is underway.
