Thanh Nguyen Killed in Traffic Accident on 5 Freeway [Oceanside, CA]

54-Year-Old Man Dies after Crashing into Truck on 5 Freeway near Cockleburr Road

 
OCEANSIDE, CA (April 19, 2023) – Thanh Van Nguyen was killed in a traffic accident in Oceanside Tuesday last week on April 11.
 
The fatal accident happened around 11:55 a.m. on 5 Freeway, just north of Cockleburr Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, Nguyen was driving an Infiniti QX4 southbound in the second lane of the freeway when he rear-ended a flatbed truck.
 
The impact caused the Infiniti to roll onto its roof, coming to rest on the shoulder of the freeway.
 
Witnesses called 911. Responding officers pronounced Nguyen dead at the scene.
 
The victim was 54 years old from Anaheim, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.
 
At this time, the cause of the crash and factors involved remain under investigation.
