Man Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver on Atlantic Avenue in Long Beach

 
LONG BEACH, CA (April 20, 2023) – A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash at Atlantic Avenue and Market Street in Long Beach on Friday evening.
 
The fatal crash happened around 9:15 p.m. on April 14. According to the Long Beach Police Department, the male pedestrian was crossing outside of the crosswalk when he was struck by a northbound vehicle that had fled the scene.
 
Responding paramedics rushed the man to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday, April 18.
 
The victim’s identity was withheld, pending notification of his relatives.
 
No description was available of the hit-and-run vehicle at this time.
