69-Year-Old Man Fatally Struck by Car in Oxnard

 
OXNARD, CA (July 14, 2021) – Terry Hensley was killed in a pedestrian accident in Oxnard late Saturday evening.
 
The accident happened around 11:58 p.m. on July 10, at the intersection of Victoria Avenue and Hemlock Street. According to the Oxnard Police Department, the 69-year-old man was walking in the southbound lanes of Victoria carrying luggage when a vehicle struck him.
 
The impact caused Hensley critical injuries. Responding paramedics tried saving him, but he died at the scene.
 
Hensley was a homeless man, according to the Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office.
 
Police said the involved driver, a 28-year-old Oxnard man, remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation.
 
Speed was not believed to be a factor in the crash. Investigators have yet to determine whether drugs or alcohol were involved.
