CHERRY VALLEY, CA (September 11, 2023) – A teen was killed in a motorcycle accident on Cherry Valley Boulevard in Cherry Valley late Tuesday afternoon on September 5.

The fatal accident happened around 5:55 p.m. at Hannon Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, the teen was riding his 2007 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle eastbound on Cherry Valley when he encountered slowing and stopped traffic ahead of him.

While he was trying to go around stopped traffic, a 54-year-old Thermal woman driving a 2014 Nissan Sentra initiated a left turn onto northbound Hannon, which basically serves as an extended driveway for a single residence.

The motorcycle collided with the Nissan, ejecting the teen rider.

Paramedics rushed the teen to Loma Linda University Medical Center in grave condition.

Sadly, the teen rider died a short time later. He was a 17-year-old Cherry Valley resident. Authorities said he was licensed to operate motorcycles.

An investigation is ongoing.
