26-Year-Old Stephanie Hernandez Dies in La Puente DUI Crash, Jose Serrano Arrested

 
LA PUENTE, CA (November 9, 2021) – Stephanie Hernandez was killed in a DUI crash in La Puente early Sunday morning.
 
The fatal crash happened around 12:21 a.m. on November 7 at Orange Avenue and Temple Avenue. According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Hernandez drove north on Orange Avenue on a green light. At the same time, 33-year-old Jose Gavidia Serrano was heading east on Temple Avenue.
 
Serrano ran a light at the intersection and struck Hernandez’ car.
 
As a result, Hernandez suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. She was a 26-year-old Los Angeles resident.
 
Deputies arrested a Serrano on suspicion of driving under the influence and DUI causing great bodily injury or death. They booked him at the sheriff’s Industry station jail without the possibility of bail.
 
Further investigation is underway.
