Two-Vehicle Accident in Fontana Leaves 2 Passengers Dead

 
FONTANA, CA (April 11, 2022)Shannon Flores and Rodrigo Resendez died in a two-vehicle accident in northern Fontana, early Thursday morning.
 
The accident happened around 1:47 a.m. on April 7 in the area of Citrus Avenue and Los Cedros Avenue. According to the Fontana Police Department, the two victims were right side passengers of an older Honda that was making a left turn from northbound Citrus onto Los Cedros.
 
The Honda turned left in front of a Chevrolet truck that was southbound on Citrus. The Chevrolet then struck the passenger side of the Honda. The force of the impact pushed the Honda into a brick wall on the southwest corner.
 
As a result of the crash, both Flores and Resendez suffered major injuries.
 
Flores, a 51-year-old San Bernardino resident, died at the scene. Resendez, a 53-year-old Fontana resident, died at Kaiser Hospital in Fontana, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff Coroner’s Division.
 
Meanwhile, police determined that the driver of the Honda driving under the influence at the time of the crash. They later booked into West Valley Detention Center on vehicular manslaughter charges.
