Girl Airlifted Following Box Truck Accident in Imperial County

 
IMPERIAL COUNTY, CA (November 9, 2022) — Several people suffered injuries in a box truck accident on 8 Freeway at Dunaway Road in Imperial County.
 
Based on reports, the crash happened on Sunday afternoon, November 6, at about 2:27 p.m. It involved a 2003 International 4300 Box Truck and a 2006 Beaver Monterrey Motorhome.
 
A 62-year-old man from Santee, California was operating the truck. There were three occupants in the motorhome, on the other hand: a 50-year-old man, a 12-year-old girl, and a 10-year-old boy from Las Vegas, Nevada.
 
A preliminary investigation showed that the box truck veered away from its lane into the center median. This triggered the crash which resulted in injuries.
 
The box truck driver had minor injuries, but he declined treatment. The passengers in the motorhome also sustained injuries. A Mercy air ambulance transported the 12-year-old girl to Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego. Meanwhile, an American Medical Response ambulance took the 10-year-old male boy to El Centro Regional Medical Center.
 
This crash remains under investigation.
