Rollover Crash in Boulevard Kills Woman and Seriously Injures Man

 
BOULEVARD, CA (January 4, 2024) – Rosie Johnson-Stewart was killed in a rollover accident in Boulevard Tuesday afternoon on December 26.
 
The fatal accident happened just after 4:30 p.m. on 8 Freeway near McCain Valley Road. According to Cal Fire, Johnson-Stewart was driving a 2008 Ford Edge westbound when she veered off the freeway for unknown reasons.
 
The SUV then overturned down an embankment near McCain Valley Road, coming to rest roughly 300 feet below the freeway.
 
Johnson-Stewart died at the scene. She was a 52-year-old Los Angeles resident, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.
 
A 43-year-old male passenger in the SUV was able to extricate himself from the wreckage and called for help. Paramedics airlifted him to a San Diego hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
 
An investigation into this accident is ongoing. The CHP suspect that intoxication played a factor in the crash.
