Robert Sonza Detained, Several Hurt in Police Pursuit Accidents near Alta Street and Montgomery Street

 
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (May 2, 2022) Robert Sonza faces charges in several crashes near Alta Street and Montgomery Street.
 
According to police, the incident happened around 9:37 p.m. on Tuesday. Upon responding to a stolen vehicle report, police tried to make a traffic stop, yet found the man driving away. Soon after, 24-year-old Sonza led police on a pursuit.
 
During the chase, Sonza rammed into an officer’s patrol vehicle at Union and Montgomery streets. From there, he drove away and crashed into a second police car at Alta Street and Montgomery Street. Subsequently, Sonza collided with an occupied vehicle at Columbus Avenue and Broadway.
 
Following the series of collisions, Sonza eventually exited his car and ran away before police arrested him at Pacific Avenue and Beckett Street.
 
At this time, Sonza remains incarcerated at San Francisco County Jail, where he faces multiple counts, including possession of a large-capacity magazine, reckless driving and others.
