Woman Struck and Killed by Hit-and-Run Driver on Highway 101 near Limerick Lane in Healdsburg

 
HEALDSBURG, CA (February 21, 2022) – A woman was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver on Highway 101, early Thursday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on February 17 at about 12:30 a.m. A Chevrolet S-10 pickup reportedly ran out of gas and stopped near Limerick Lane.
 
The pickup driver briefly left the scene to get help, while his female passenger remained with the stopped vehicle. When the pickup driver returned, he found the woman lying in the roadway. He immediately called 911 to report a possible hit-and-run.
 
Emergency crews later pronounced the woman dead at the scene. Authorities withheld the name of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
Investigators described the suspect vehicle as a silver or similar-colored 2019 or 2021 Ram pickup. Officers also believe that the Ram pickup sustained damage to the right front side.
