Pedestrian Killed in Accident on Highway 70 [Oroville, CA]

Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Highway 70 near Garden Drive in Oroville

 
OROVILLE, CA (July 6, 2022) – A pedestrian was killed in an accident on Highway 70 early Tuesday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on July 5, shortly before 4:00 a.m. For reasons still under investigation, a vehicle hit the victim on the right shoulder of the Garden Drive off-ramp.
 
Emergency crews pronounced the victim dead at the scene. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
As per reports, responders could not locate the driver and the vehicle involved in the collision.
 
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the fatal accident. Officers ask witnesses to call the Oroville CHP Area Office at (530) 538-2700.
