Pedestrian Struck, Killed by Train near Jeff Davis Avenue

 
LONG BEACH, CA (May 23, 2021) — A pedestrian was hit and killed by a train near Jeff Davis Avenue and Railroad Street Thursday morning.
 
According to the Long Beach Police Department, the accident happened around 9:00 a.m. Under unclear circumstances, the train struck the pedestrian west of the Jeff Davis Avenue crossing. Following the crash, the train came to a stop, blocking multiple crossings to the east.
 
Shortly after, emergency personnel and authorities arrived, yet only to find the victim deceased and the train at a stop.
 
At this time, authorities plan to work on the cause and circumstances of the crash. However, if anyone has insight into this accident, please contact the Long Beach Police.
