AUBURN, CA (August 24, 2023) — A pedestrian was hit and killed by a car in a Highway 49 accident near Palm Avenue.
 
According to Auburn police officers, the fatal pedestrian accident happened Tuesday night. Under unclear circumstances, a driver struck a male pedestrian crossing outside a marked crosswalk in the southbound lanes.
 
As a result, the man suffered fatal injuries in the incident. Officials have not released his name.
