Pedestrian Fatally Struck in Hit-and-Run Accident on Highway 184 near Kerrnita Road
BAKERSFIELD, CA (November 23, 2022) — A pedestrian died in a hit-and-run crash on Highway 184 on Tuesday, November 22.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at around 3:20 a.m. on Highway 184, just south of Kerrnita Road.
The primary investigation determined a man walked in the southbound traffic lane of Highway 184. Then an unknown vehicle hit him in the southbound lane.
A Hall Ambulance crew in the area called by CHP discovered the body.
The man suffered major injuries and first responders declared him dead at the scene. It is not yet determined if the use of alcohol or drugs contributed to the crash.
Authorities closed Highway 184 for two hours during the investigation.
