Amadro Avalos-Diaz Booked for DUI, Eduardo Coria-Estrada Uninjured in Big Rig Crash on Highway 101 near Highway 166

 
SANTA MARIA, CA (November 13, 2024) — Amadro Avalos-Diaz faces DUI charges following a big rig accident on Highway 101 near Highway 166 early Sunday.
 
The California Highway Patrol responded to reports of a two-vehicle crash around 1:15 a.m. Upon dispatch to the northbound side of the highway, authorities learned that a 2008 Chevrolet Malibu collided with a 2021 Peterbilt semi-trailer causing it to overturn.
 
The Chevrolet driver, identified as Avalos-Diaz of Santa Maria, received medical attention for his minor injuries; however, authorities arrested him shortly thereafter on suspicion of DUI. The Peterbilt driver, identified as Eduardo Coria-Estrada of Santa Maria, was unharmed.
 
After the accident, the police closed two lanes of Highway 101 to investigate.
