Crash on Mesa Drive in Oceanside Leaves 40-Year-Old Driver with Major Injuries

 
OCEANSIDE, CA (November 10, 2022) – One person was seriously injured in a traffic accident on Mesa Drive in Oceanside on Sunday night, November 6.
 
The accident happened around 6:30 p.m. near Buddy Todd Park. According to the Oceanside Police Department, the 40-year-old man was driving a GMC pickup truck eastbound on Mesa Drive when he crossed the double yellow lines.
 
The pickup then clipped a westbound Lexus SUV, then went off the road and down an embankment.
 
As a result, the driver of the pickup suffered major but non-life-threatening injuries. He was flown to a trauma center for proper treatment.
 
Officers suspected intoxication was a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
