One Seriously Injured in Motorcycle Accident on Mission Boulevard near Pacific Beach Drive [Pacific Beach, CA]

31-Year-Old Rider Suffers Broken Pelvis and Leg after Struck by Uber Driver on Mission Boulevard in Pacific Beach

 
PACIFIC BEACH, CA (March 7, 2022) – One person was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident on Mission Boulevard in Pacific Beach on Saturday evening.
 
The accident happened just before 7:00 p.m. on March 5 just west of Pacific Beach Drive. According to the San Diego Police Department, the male driver of an Uber with passengers inside attempted to make the turn from northbound Mission Boulevard to westbound Pacific Beach Drive.
 
The car then struck the motorcycle which was heading southbound on Mission Boulevard. The impact ejected the rider from his bike.
 
First responders rushed the victim to Scripps La Jolla Hospital for treatment of serious injuries including a broken pelvis and leg.
 
The SDPD’s traffic division is still investigating the accident. It is unknown if speed, drugs or alcohol were contributing factors.
