Fatal Two-Vehicle Accident on North Gates Road in Modesto

 
MODESTO, CA (June 17, 2021) – At least one person was killed in a two-vehicle accident on North Gates Road at Highway 132 in Modesto Wednesday afternoon.
 
The accident happened around 3:29 p.m. on June 16. CHP officials responded to the scene and located two vehicles, one had rolled over on its side. Paramedics found a total of four patients. One person was pinned inside a vehicle and two others in the overturned vehicle.
 
Firefighters extricated the victims and performed life-saving measures, but at least one of them died at the scene.
 
The identity of the deceased was not immediately available pending confirmation and family notification.
 
At this time, it is unknown if speed, drugs or alcohol was a factor. The California Highway Patrol is still investigating the cause of the accident.
