Deadly Crash on National Trails Highway in Oro Grande Involves Deputy Patrol Vehicle

 
ORO GRANDE(December 27, 2022) – One person was killed in a two-vehicle accident on National Trails Highway in Oro Grande on Christmas Day.
 
The accident happened around 9:18 p.m. at Hibiscus Street. According to the California Highway Patrol, a San Bernardino County Sheriff’s patrol vehicle and a Chevrolet Impala collided for unknown reasons. The impact sent the Impala off the roadway. It then burst into flames.
 
The driver of the Impala was ejected from the car and died at the scene.
 
Meanwhile, the deputy was found unconscious in their patrol vehicle. A helicopter transported the deputy to a trauma center in an unknown condition.
 
Both vehicles sustained major damage from the crash.
 
The cause of the crash is under investigation, and no further details were immediately available.
