Fatal Motorcycle Crash on Highway 1 in Monterey
MONTEREY, CA (September 28, 2022) – At least one person died in a motorcycle accident on Highway 1 in Monterey on Monday afternoon, September 26.
The accident happened around 1:00 p.m. just south of Aguajito Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, two motorcycles were speeding and passing vehicles on the highway when at least one of them crashed.
When officers arrived, they located six vehicles at the scene, unknown if they were involved in the crash. They also found one motorcyclist lying in the roadway.
Paramedics tried saving the patient, but the victim did not survive.
Caltrans shutdown part of the road while detectives investigated the crash. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol was a factor.
