Fiery Crash on 5 Freeway in Stockton Leaves 1 Person Dead

 
STOCKTON, CA (July 28, 2021) – One person died in a fiery accident on 5 Freeway in Stockton late Monday evening.
 
The accident happened around 11:28 p.m. on July 26, along the southbound freeway at the Alpine Avenue off-ramp. According to the Stockton Police Department, a vehicle had crashed into the center divider and burst into flames.
 
Stockton firefighters responded to the crash site and found two patients, one of them was trapped inside the burning car and died at the scene.
 
Paramedics transported the other patient to a hospital with major injuries.
 
Authorities withheld the identity of the deceased pending notification of next of kin.
 
The cause of the crash and factors involved remain under investigation.
