DUI Driver Involved in Accident on South Union Avenue in Bakersfield

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (May 17, 2021) – Paramedics sent one person to the hospital following a suspected DUI accident on South Union Avenue on May 11.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near South Chester Avenue around 7:53 PM.
 
Based on a report, the victim was driving a Chevy pick-up truck at the time of the crash. Due to unknown reasons, the driver lost control and collided into a parked semi-truck. Consequently, the crash pinned the driver inside the pick-up truck.
 
It took emergency crews about one hour to pull the victim out of the truck. As a result, the patient suffered moderate injuries in the incident.
 
The cause of the crash was not immediately available. However, officials believed that DUI was a possible factor.
