One Dies in San Bernardino Wrong-Way Crash on 210 Freeway

 
SAN BERNARDINO, CA (September 20, 2021) — One person died in a wrong-way accident on the 210 Freeway near Highway 259 Sunday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly multi-car accident happened around 2:00 a.m. For unknown reasons, a driver began driving in the wrong direction, heading south in the northbound lanes of the transition to Highway 259. Subsequently, the wrong-way driver collided with another vehicle just before a third car became involved.
 
Soon after, CHP and San Bernardino Fire Department officials responded to the scene. There, they confirmed one fatality and transported a patient to a hospital.
 
At this point, detectives have not confirmed if DUI played a role. However, anyone with more information should contact the department.
