SAN DIEGO, CA (January 6, 2023) — An officer was injured after a patrol car crashed into a trolley at First Avenue and C Street Thursday.
 
According to the San Diego Police Department, the accident took place around 8:00 a.m. in downtown San Diego. For unknown reasons, a San Diego Police Officer crashed into a trolley while responding to a report about three people in a car wearing ski masks. Other officers responded to the initial call and the three suspects were detained.
 
However, the police officer suffered unclear injuries and sought hospital care. According to the San Diego Metropolitan transit system, both the orange and blue lines between City College and Santa Fe Depot ceased their services due to the crash, which resulted in hours-long delays.
 
Information surrounding what drove the accident is unclear. Although, an investigation into the crash should clarify more details.
