Man Killed in 15 Freeway Pedestrian Crash in Barstow

 
BARSTOW, CA (January 6, 2023) — A man died in a pedestrian accident on the 15 Freeway near Main Street.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal pedestrian accident occurred around 2:10 a.m. on New Year’s Eve. Upon receiving a call about a pedestrian walking in the traffic lanes of the northbound freeway, authorities responded to learn that a pedestrian accident occurred.
 
The 43-year-old man from Barstow meandering on the 15 Freeway reportedly walked into the path of a 2019 Cadillac CTS, driven by a 24-year-old Lakewood man. Soon after, emergency personnel responded but pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
 
Authorities have not stated if alcohol or drugs played a factor in the crash. But an investigation into the case should confirm more details.
