Officer Hurt in DUI Accident on Highway 101

 
VENTURA, CA (October 6, 2021) — An officer suffered minor injuries in a DUI crash on Highway 101 near Seaward Avenue Monday evening.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened around 5:50 p.m. For DUI-related reasons, a driver in a 2021 Jeep Wrangler struck an officer’s patrol vehicle as he used the right shoulder to pass slower-moving traffic. Following the initial impact, the Jeep overturned and debris from the crash struck a third car nearby.
 
Soon after, paramedics arrived and tended to the officer who suffered minor injuries. Meanwhile, investigators arrested the 35-year-old Irvine man for driving while impaired.
