SACRAMENTO, CA (October 17, 2022) — An officer hit by a DUI driver near Stockton Boulevard and Florin Road suffered major injuries.
 
According to authorities, the major injury crash happened around 12:30 a.m. on Sunday. As a California Highway Patrol officer began conducting traffic control due to a previous fatal crash near Stockton Boulevard, a DUI driver approached the scene.
 
The unidentified driver struck the CHP officer who was standing outside of his vehicle.
 
Officers on the scene performed life-saving efforts on the victim who was then transported to a hospital with major injuries.
 
Following the incident, the driver who hit him was arrested for DUI.
