Two-Car Accident on National Trails Highway in Oro Grande Kills 1 and Sends 2 to Hospital

 
ORO GRANDE, CA (October 17, 2022) – One person died in a two-car accident on National Trails Highway in the community of Oro Grande on Friday afternoon, October 14.
 
The accident happened around 12:15 p.m. across from the main entrance to the CalPortland Cement plant. According to the California Highway Patrol, a white BMW 340i and a silver VW Hatchback four-door sedan collided and ended up along the dirt shoulder. Both vehicles sustained major front-end damage.
 
Responding firefighters pronounced one person dead at the scene.
 
Two helicopters transported two people to hospitals with critical injuries. A young child was airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center and an adult was transported to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center.
 
An investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
