Man Dies after Struck by Vehicle while Running onto Golden State Freeway in Pacoima

 
PACOIMA, CA (May 8, 2023) – A nude man was killed in a pedestrian accident on Golden State (5) Freeway in Pacoima Sunday evening on May 7.
 
The fatal accident happened around 8:10 p.m. near the Laurel Canyon on-ramp to the 5 Freeway interchange with 118 Freeway. According to the California Highway Patrol, the man ran onto the 5 Freeway when a vehicle struck him.
 
The man died at the scene. His identity was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
 
Crews shut down both northbound and southbound lanes of 5 Freeway while they cleared the wreckage.
 
The circumstances of this fatality are still under investigation.
