Driver Dies after Rear-Ending Big Rig on Cherry Avenue in Easton

 
EASTON, CA (May 8, 2023) – A man was killed in a rear-end accident at Cherry Avenue and Lincoln Avenue in the Easton area of Fresno County on Sunday morning.
 
The accident happened around 5:15 a.m. on May 7. According to the California Highway Patrol, the 26-year-old man was driving a Honda Accord when he drifted onto the shoulder and slammed into the back of a big rig that was parked along the roadway.
 
The impact was so severe that it caused the driver to suffer critical injuries. First responders tried saving him, but he died at the scene.
 
At this time, the identity of the deceased was not immediately available.
 
The Accord sustained major damage, while the big rig was moderately damaged.
 
It is unknown if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash, which is still under investigation.
