No Injuries Reported, Santee Police Pursuit Ends in Multi-Car Crash on Highway 52

 
SANTEE, CA (April 28, 2022) — Police reported no injuries after a police chase ended in a multi-car accident on Highway 52 near Mast Boulevard.
 
According to the San Diego police, the incident happened around 1:20 p.m. on Tuesday. When officers spotted a driver in a Lexus sedan committing a traffic violation at Hancock Street near West Washington Street, the driver fled, heading northbound on the 5 Freeway.
 
Lasting for just about 12 minutes, the pursuit took San Diego Police onto Highway 52 just west of Mast Boulevard. There, the Lexus crashed into several cars and spun out on the road.
 
Subsequently, the driver of the Lexus and the driver’s passenger surrendered to police officers.
 
According to reports, the driver reached speeds of about 110 miles per hour and used the right-hand shoulder of the freeway to pass slower-moving traffic. However, neither of the involved occupants, including the ones in the other cars, reported any injuries.
