Moua Ly Hit and Killed by Car on Hughes Avenue [Fresno, CA]

77-Year-Old Man Using Walker Dies after Struck by Car in Central Fresno

 
FRESNO, CA (September 24, 2023) – Moua Ly was hit and killed by a car in central Fresno Tuesday morning on September 19.
 
The fatal crash happened just before 6:30 a.m. at Hughes Avenue and Weber Avenue. According to the Fresno Police Department, Ly was using a walker going east on Hughes when he was hit by a Chevrolet car.
 
Responding paramedics rushed Ly to Community Regional Medical Center in critical condition.
 
Despite life-saving efforts at the hospital, Ly was declared dead. He was 77 years old.
 
The driver stayed at the scene. Police said the driver has a suspended license and warrants, and was evaluated for DUI.
 
The circumstances of this fatality remain under investigation.
