Rider Dies in Late Afternoon Crash on Highway 101 in San Jose

 
SAN JOSE, CA (August 26, 2021) – A motorcyclist died in a rear-end accident on Highway 101 late Wednesday afternoon.
 
The accident happened around 5:05 p.m. on August 25, in the southbound lanes of the highway near the Brokaw Road off-ramp. According to the California Highway Patrol, the motorcyclist was traveling at approximately 60 mph in the far left lane when another vehicle moved into the lane.
 
In response, the motorcyclist moved into the lane to his right. He then rear-ended a stopped vehicle. The motorcyclist was thrown from his bike and hit the back of another stopped vehicle.
 
First responders pronounced the motorcyclist dead at the scene. The identity of the victim has not yet been released.
 
The San Jose area CHP office urged anyone with further information to call them at 408-467-5400.
