Mitchell Moreno Jr. Killed in Motorcycle Accident on Capitol Expressway [San Jose, CA]

Motorcyclist Dies after Colliding with Pickup Truck and SUV in San Jose

 
SAN JOSE, CA (December 20, 2021) – Mitchell Moreno Jr. died in a motorcycle accident in San Jose on Friday night.
 
The accident happened around 6:16 p.m. on December 17 on Capitol Expressway near the Highway 87 on-ramp. According to the San Jose Police Department, the 28-year-old victim was riding his motorcycle eastbound on Capitol Expressway at a high rate of speed. He attempted to ride between two lanes of traffic when he collided with a 2007 Chevrolet pickup truck.
 
The impact ejected Moreno from his bike. While he was down in the center lane, a 2020 Tesla Model Y then struck him.
 
As a result of the crash, Moreno suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
Both drivers stayed on scene and cooperated with authorities.
 
The San Jose Police Department is still investigating the accident.
